One of the most prestigious events held in the online gambling industry, the International Gaming Awards (IGA), recently closed its nominations. IGA rewards both online and offline casinos. Nominations were invited a while back by IGA. Due to an overwhelming response, the last date had to be extended. Finally, IGA has closed its nominations. Panels of judges will start their work now.
Nominations for the Popular Category of Awards
More than 25 nominations have been entered for the category of Software Supplier of the year. Names of prominent providers like Playtech, Microgaming, Net Entertainment, CTXM and Chartwell are included in the list. It also has an array of names which are still making a name for themselves in the industry.
Microgaming will give stiff competition this time to Playtech, which had won the award in the software supplier category at the IGA last year. Microgaming's QuickFire platform has gained popularity in the industry due to its unique features.
The Online Casino Operator Category Features Names of Top Players
Names of top European operators in the industry are featured in the category of the Online Casino Operator. Gambling sites like Bet365, 888 Casino, Bwin.party, Bodog, William Hill, Victor Chandler and Ladbrokes have sent nominations. The strongest contender in this category is Virgin Casino. The casino site operator employed the services of top notch software providers and added a host of new games to its platform. In addition, fantastic promotions are offered by the site all round the year.
Stiff Competition in the Category of Payment Solutions Provider
Similar to the past years, there is tough competition in the category of payment solutions. The new name for one of the top companies offering payment solutions, Neteller, is Optimal Payment Solutions. The original name of the company, Moneybookers, has also been changed. The new name is Skrill. Both Neteller and Moneybookers have been nominated. Other names included in the category are, Paysafecard and Entropay.
Other Categories for IGA 2025
Two other categories included in IGA 2025 are Online Slots Operator and Socially Responsible Online Operator. Nominations for the first category include the names of prominent sites like William Hill, Slots, Bwin.party, 888 Casino and 32Red Casino. Some of these sites also offer wide variety of options for online roulette. Nominations for the category of Socially Responsible Online Operator are Bwin.party, 888 Casino, William Hill, Paddy Power and Betfair.
GREaT Foundation Selected as the Charitable Beneficiary of the Event
IGA announced the name of the charitable beneficiary of the awards ceremony to be held in 2025. The GREaT Foundation has been appointed for this section. The foundation is a UK based organization which focuses on gambling research, treatment and education. It aims at reaching out to the operators of both online and offline casinos in the event to gain support for the cause it works for. It also aims at raising funds in the process.
The IGA 2025 received sponsorships from a host of reputed firms in the industry like EGBA, RGA, Playtech, eCOGRA and Bally Technologies.
